東方杯才藝大賽今年六月五日假雪梨科技高中舉辦了第一屆的初賽，明德中文學校參賽的小朋友，成績優秀。入圍決賽名單如下:
舞蹈少年組: 徐珮喬
聲樂少年組: Sandra To，賴曉晴
中文朗誦少年組: 呂佳軒，徐珮喬，賴建朗
集體賽: 朗誦十二人組，爬山; 十人合唱，牽你的手
所有參賽小朋友不僅學習到如何為這類大賽做賽前準備，更訓練了膽量與臺風，不啻為一個寶貴的經驗。明德除了感謝各位老師的時間和心血以及各位家長的陪同，更要鼓勵入圍決賽的小朋友，放鬆心情，珍惜決賽的機會。
On 5 June of this year, the Oriental Cup Eisteddfod held the preliminary of its first annual competition at Sydney Technical High School. The contending children from Mingder Chinese School achieved good scores. The following is a list of children from Mingder who have been selected for the final:
Juvenile Dancing: Alice Pei Qiao Xu,
Juvenile Vocal: Sandra To, Jacqueline Lai
Juvenile Reading Aloud: 呂佳軒, Alice Pei Qiao Xu, Kenneth Lai
Groups: Reading Aloud, twelve persons, Hiking; Chorus, ten persons, Holding Your Hand
This competition was an invaluable opportunity for all contending children in that they not only learned how to prepare for contests such as this one, they also learned to build up their courage and present a proper stage poise. Mingder thanks the teachers for their time and energy, and the parents for their company. Mingder also encourages the children selected for the final to relax and cherish the opportunity of going to the final.
